Ep. 116 “Women Forging Nets for  Demilitarization and Genuine Security, Part  2” (hosted by Dr. LisaLinda Natividad with production assistance of Joy White) was recorded 2/19-25/12 and airs 6/01/12.
The 8th Gathering of the International Women's Network Against Militarism met February 19-25, 2012 in Puerto Rico with the theme “Forging Nets for Demilitarization and Genuine Security.”  The purpose of this gathering was for women to participate in collective analysis and develop strategies to counter the impacts of militarism, military contamination, imperialism and systems of oppression based on gender, race, class, nationality and sexual orientation.
Today’s episode features Part 2 of the status reports presented by delegates from Hawai’i, Guam (Guahan), Okinawa and Japan.  In Part II next Friday, we will air the reports presented on Vieques-Puerto Rico, the United States, Philippines and South Korea.  To view the collective statement developed through this gathering, go to:
